weather conditions
All of Central Europe is currently experiencing weak air pressure differences. There is a weak southeasterly upper air flow in the Alpine region today! In the middle troposphere at a height of around 5.5 kilometers, southeasterly winds are blowing over! Switzerland at only 15 to a maximum of 30 km/h.
ECMWF model forecast for Monday, May 22, 2023, 2 p.m.: Upper airflow at about 5.5 kilometers! altitude and equivalent potential temperature at about 1500 meters altitude. The redder the color, the more energetic the air.

Such low-flow weather conditions in the area of unstable! air masses are not unusual for the month of May. Small marginal troughs unstable the air stratification in the upper troposphere! “down below” the May sun heats up strongly and warms the air near the ground. The result is a large vertical temperature difference, the air is unstable and ready for high-reaching convection in the form of showers and thunderstorms.
The fact that the air mass is quite energetic can be seen
in the orange-red tones over Central Europe and the Alpine region. They indicate relatively warm and relatively humid air, which on the one hand ensures early summer daytime maximum temperatures, and on the other hand promotes the formation of panama phone number library showers and thunderstorms.
Early cumulus clouds
In this weather situation, cumulus clouds do not take long to appear and go through all stages of development, as recently in this

nicely described. Since there is no large-scale triggering mechanism such as a cold front nearby today, the formation of high-reaching convection usually occurs first over the mountains. Later, the separate showers and thunderstorms organize themselves into small thunderstorm complexes in some areas and spread out with the (today weak) upper air flow.
Thunderstorms from the southeast
According to the general weather situation, our COSMO-1E model is forecasting showers and thunderstorms for Monday afternoon, starting in the mountains and the Alps. They will slowly move northwest to north with the upper air current and will partially extend into the lowlands. As the air current is weak, the precipitation cores will move slowly and can bring local heavy rain and a lot of water in the same place within a short proven inbound marketing methods period of time. A few kilometers away, however, there will be regions that will be significantly less wet or will remain completely dry.

Due to the slow movement of the showers and thunderstorms and the expected large differences in a small area, it is difficult to make a precise forecast for a specific location. The animation above shows ONE possible weather pattern for Monday afternoon and evening. In order to better depict the forecast uncertainty, on such days one must
probability concepts.
